Kreative Kakez

We run things out of Flat No. 10 in the Laxmi Sahwas Society, which is over by the Market Yard area in Salisbury Park. It’s not a big commercial bakery or anything, just a home setup where we spend most of our hours. The kitchen is almost always covered in a bit of flour or sugar, no matter how much we try to wipe it down between batches. Being near the Unity Bakery means people use that as a landmark to find our building. We do mostly cakes and small treats for people who live nearby or hear about us from friends. The oven stays on for a good part of the day, making the whole flat smell like vanilla or chocolate, which the neighbors sometimes mention when we see them in the hallway. It gets a bit chaotic when we have several orders due at the same time, with boxes stacked on the dining table and cooling racks everywhere. We handle everything ourselves, from mixing the batter to boxing up the final product. Sometimes the delivery person gets lost trying to find our specific wing in the society, so we end up meeting them at the gate. It’s a small operation, and we don't have a storefront, so everything is done by appointment. We just enjoy the process of making something from scratch right here at home while the radio plays in the background.
