Sahyog Autocomponents is out in Kharadi, at 797/1. It’s a good location, though the road can be a bit bumpy getting here. Our workshop is where all the action is. You’ll hear the sound of tools and metal most of the day. We’re mostly focused on auto parts and getting things fitted or sorted out. It’s a greasy job sometimes. Our hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We have a small office at the front where we keep the records, but most of us are in the back. There’s a specific smell of oil and metal that stays with you. We have a big calendar on the wall where we mark everything down. It’s easier than using a computer for some things. The neighbors are mostly other small workshops, so we all know each other. If we need a tool we don't have, we just go next door and ask. It’s a supportive little community. The afternoons get quite hot under the tin roof, so we have a few big pedestal fans blowing all the time. They are noisy but necessary. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just want to make sure the parts are right and the work is solid. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it a long time now. We usually wrap things up around seven and head out.
