Puneree Sarees

We are tucked away in Shop No. 12 at Vitthal Residency, right on Kumthekar Road. If you are near Chitrashala Chowk, you are very close to us. It’s a small shop but we pack it full of different sarees from wall to wall. We’ve been here at 719/20 for some time now. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and people walking to the chowk for their errands. Inside, we have stacks of cloth everywhere you look. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit because of all the new stock arriving. We don't have fancy lights or a big showroom with mannequins. It’s just us showing people the fabric and the designs we have on hand at the moment. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or people who have been coming to Kumthekar Road for years to do their shopping. We keep things pretty simple here. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the first person to walk in. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding all day to show off the patterns to anyone who asks. My hands are usually tired by the end of it. We aren't a big chain store or anything like that. Just a small shop in a busy residency building. We know many of the other shopkeepers around Chitrashala Chowk, so it feels like a community. We just focus on keeping a decent variety of sarees so there is something for everyone who stops by.
