S Kumar Furniture

S Kumar Furniture has been operating out of Tapkir Nagar in Kalewadi for several years now. It is a family-run business and we spend most of our days in the workshop or out front talking to people who walk in. The street outside can be quite dusty, but we keep the furniture covered as much as we can. We make mostly wooden pieces like cupboards and dining sets. Sometimes the wood takes a bit longer to arrive than we expect, but we try to keep things moving. We don't have a website or any of that. Usually, someone just hears about us from their neighbor and comes by to see what we have on the floor. It’s a humble setup, nothing like those big malls. We use local labor and try to keep our prices where regular families can afford them. My son helps with the heavy lifting and the accounts. We don't really have a big office, just a desk in the corner with a lot of papers on it. If you need something for your house, you can just come in and tell us what you're thinking of. We might not have it right then, but we can probably get it made for you in a week or two. That’s just how we do things here in Kalewadi. We just try to provide something solid that will last.
