If you ever find yourself at 32 Pimpri, you’ll see our little shop, S K Gift House. It’s a modest place, packed to the rafters with all sorts of things. We have rows of plastic toys, picture frames, and shiny trinkets for birthdays or anniversaries. The aisles are quite narrow because we try to fit in as much as we can on the shelves. It’s been this way for a long time. The floor is a bit uneven in the back, and the front door sometimes sticks when it's humid outside. We don't have a big staff, usually just one or two of us helping customers find a specific card or some bright wrapping paper. Pimpri is a very busy area, so there is always a lot of shouting and horns honking right outside the doorstep. Inside, it smells a bit like incense and old paper. We don't do any big advertising; we just put some of the colorful items out on the sidewalk to catch the eyes of people walking by. It gets really crowded during the festival seasons, and we end up staying late to help everyone out with their last-minute shopping. Sometimes we lose track of what’s in the bottom drawers, but that’s just part of the charm of a local gift shop. It isn't a polished mall store with bright spotlights. It’s just a place where you can pick up a small surprise for someone without making a big deal out of it.
