Rollwin Aluminium

Rollwin Aluminium is situated in Narayan Peth within the Shivaji Housing Society area. It’s a bit of a residential spot but we have our workshop set up right here. We work mostly with aluminium sections and frames. You can hear the sound of cutting and grinding from the street if you walk by during the day. We have metal scraps in the corners and the floor is usually covered in silver shavings. It’s just three of us working here most of the time. We take orders for windows, doors, and whatever else people need made out of metal. Narayan Peth is an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and it can be tough to get big deliveries in. We’ve learned to make it work over the years. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. You just walk into the shop and talk to whoever isn't holding a saw at the moment. It’s a very practical environment. Sometimes we work late into the evening if a big order needs to be finished. We don't really have a set closing time if there's work to be done. It’s a bit messy and loud, but that’s the nature of working with aluminium. We like what we do and we’ve been doing it a long time. We’ve got a small kettle in the back for making tea when it gets cold in the monsoon. It’s the little things that make the long days easier to handle here. We just keep our heads down.
