About Real Marble & Granite – Building & Construction Material in Pune
Working out here in Ambegaon Thakur Village is different from being in the city. It’s 34/8, a big open space because marble and granite take up a lot of room. There’s always a layer of stone dust on everything, including my coffee cup. We spend the day moving these heavy slabs around. You have to be careful because one slip and something expensive breaks. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's basically just the stones leaned up against the walls so people can see the patterns. Customers come in with their tape measures and look at the colors. We talk about what’s strong and what looks good for a kitchen. It’s physical work. My back usually aches by the time we close up. The village is quiet, but we have trucks coming in and out which makes a lot of noise. We don't have a website that’s updated or anything like that. We just show you what we have on the ground. Sometimes we get some really nice pieces with odd veins of color in them. We’ve been at this for years, just selling stone to people building houses nearby. It’s honest work. The sun beats down on the yard in the summer, but we just keep moving the slabs. It’s what we do here, day in and day out, without much fuss.
