If you know the Deccan Gymkhana area in Pune, you know Jangli Maharaj Road is the place to be. We are right there at Bhosale Shinde Arcade. It’s funny because people still call it the Old Natraj Theatre spot, even though the theatre has been gone for years. Ravindra Furniture has been part of this landscape for quite some time. The Arcade itself is a busy place with people coming in and out of the various shops. Our space is filled with the smell of wood and polish. It’s not a shiny showroom like the ones you see in malls. We have things stacked up, and sometimes you have to move a chair to see a table. Cts No.629 is our official mark on the map, but we just think of it as home. The afternoon sun hits the front windows of the Arcade pretty hard, so we usually keep the blinds halfway down. It’s a bit dusty because of all the traffic on JM Road, but we try to keep the furniture wiped down. The staff here has been around forever. We know the regular delivery guys and the people who run the nearby stalls. It’s a simple business. We sell furniture, we talk to people who walk in, and we watch the city change outside our door. No big corporate vibes here, just us and a lot of wooden legs.
