Our office is over in Kalyani Nagar at Corniche Tower. We are in Suite 104 on Central Avenue. If you know where the Pizza Hut lane is, we are right opposite that. Rashmi Maiskar Architect Interior & Landscape Designers covers a lot of ground, from the actual building structure to the plants outside in the garden. It’s a lot of different things to keep track of every day. Kalyani Nagar is a nice area to work in, though Lane 2 can get a bit crowded with cars and bikes during the lunch hour. We’ve been working from this spot for a bit. It’s a decent sized space where we can spread out our large drawings and site maps. We don’t really go for the high-end corporate look with glass walls. It’s more of a working studio where things are constantly moving around. We spend a lot of time on the phone with vendors or out at various sites around Pune. When we are actually in the office, it’s usually to huddle over a computer or a sketchpad to solve some design problem. Interior work takes a lot of coordination, and landscape stuff depends so much on the weather and the season. We just take it one day at a time here. It’s just us, trying to get the details right for every project that comes our way. People stop by for updates, and we usually just pull up a chair and look at the plans together on the table. It’s an honest way to work.
