About Ram Doultani Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Pune
You can find me at Koregaon Park J 19. It’s a nice area of town, though it gets quite crowded on the weekends. My architectural practice is pretty straightforward. I spend most of my mornings answering emails and the afternoons out at sites or meeting with people. I don’t have a big team of designers; it’s a more personal setup here. I’ve worked on a variety of buildings around Koregaon Park and beyond. Every site has its own set of problems, like weird angles or old trees you can't move. I try to work around those things. Architecture involves a lot more math and boring paperwork than people think. It’s not all just drawing pretty pictures. I deal with the local authorities to get things passed, which takes a lot of patience. My office is usually quiet, except for the fan and maybe some music in the background. I like to keep things simple. If a client wants something, we talk it over and I tell them what’s possible and what isn’t. I don't believe in over-complicating a design just for the sake of it. Buildings should be useful first. I’ve lived in this city a long time, so I’ve seen how styles have changed. I just try to do work that lasts.
