If you come down to Dahanukar Colony in Kothrud, you’ll find Raj Furniture at Kalakruti, 182. We’ve been here in the Moto Maholla area for quite some time. It’s more of a workshop than a showroom. You’ll usually smell sawdust and wood glue as soon as you walk in. There are pieces of furniture in various stages of being finished—some just frames and others getting their final polish. We have tools laying out on the benches and wood stacked against the walls. It’s a bit dusty, but that’s what happens when you’re actually making things. We don't have a sales team in suits. Usually, it’s just one of us with a pencil behind our ear and a tape measure in our pocket. We talk to people about what they need for their homes and then we get to work. It’s a noisy place when the saws are running. We’ve been part of the Kothrud community for years, and many of our customers are neighbors. We don’t have a fancy website or a big catalog. People just come in, show us a sketch or tell us an idea, and we see what we can do. It’s hard work, but we like seeing a finished piece go out the door. It’s just a straightforward furniture shop where we use our hands to get the job done properly for the folks who live around here. We just try to keep things simple and functional for every customer.
