Quintessence Design

Our space for Quintessence Design is right in the middle of Shukrawar Peth at 1064. If you know the Peths, you know it’s always crowded and full of life. Our office is a bit of a sanctuary from all that noise outside. It’s an old building, so the walls are thick and the rooms are a bit small, but it works for us. We have our drafting tables and computers squeezed in where they fit. It’s not a corporate office by any stretch. We have tea together in the afternoons and talk about the projects we’re currently handling. Most of the work involves a lot of back-and-forth, trying to get the details just right. We have samples of materials laying around everywhere—bits of wood, fabric, and tiles. It’s a hands-on kind of place. People find us because they’re usually looking for something specific and they know we’ve been here in Shukrawar Peth for a while. We don’t have a big receptionist area; you just walk in and someone will look up from their work to help you. The stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful coming up. It’s an honest, working environment. We don't try to impress anyone with the decor. We just focus on the designs and getting the drawings finished so the clients get what they need. It’s a good spot for us and it has character even if it is a bit cramped for space.
