You can find us over at 12 B Rahulnagar, which is right near the Karve Statue in the Kothrud area of Pune. This isn’t a huge corporate headquarters or anything like that; it’s just our local office where we handle things for Qatar Airways. The street outside is almost always busy with people and cars, being such a central spot in Pune. Our space inside is pretty simple. We have a few desks, some chairs for visitors, and our computers where we look up flight details and ticket info. It’s a lot more convenient for people living around here to just drop by our place instead of trying to get through to a call center or driving out to the airport. We don’t really do any big advertising or have a team of people in suits. We just show up, open the shutters, and start helping whoever walks in. Most of the day is spent checking schedules and making sure the names on the tickets are spelled right. It’s straightforward work and we like the routine of it. We know the regulars who travel often and they seem to appreciate that we are right here in the neighborhood. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just try to be helpful and get the job done without making any mistakes. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us on our toes throughout the week. We keep a pot of coffee going to keep the energy up.
