I am staying over at Agarwal Hostel, right beside the Bank of India Colony in Panmala. It is a busy little pocket of Pune. My room is pretty small and it is mostly filled with stacks of papers and management books. Being in the middle of an MBA program means I do not have a traditional office. I do most of my work on a shared table or on my bed if the common area is too noisy. There is always someone coming or going in the hostel, so it is never truly quiet. I spend hours looking at market trends and working on presentations for class. Sometimes I help out other students or do some freelance research to keep busy. The canteen downstairs is where most of my meetings happen, usually over a plate of poha. It is a simple life, focused on getting the degree and learning the ropes of business. I do not have a fancy title or a company car. Just a backpack and a lot of ambition. The traffic near Duttawadi is always a mess, so I mostly walk everywhere. I have got a lot of charts taped to the back of my door. It is a bit messy, and there is always a half-empty tea cup somewhere. The Wi-Fi password is written on a piece of cardboard taped to the wall. It is not the most professional environment, but it is where I get things done.
