Being at Pune University means we are part of a huge campus right near Ganesh Khinda Road. It is a massive area with a lot of old trees and stone buildings that have been around for a long time. If you walk through the gates, you immediately notice how much quieter it is compared to the main road outside. We spend our days dealing with all sorts of university matters, from paperwork to helping students find their way around the different departments. The walk from the main road can be quite long if you don't have a bicycle or a scooter, but many people like the greenery. There are always students sitting under the trees or rushing to get to their lectures on time. It feels like a small city inside a city. The atmosphere changes depending on the time of year, getting very busy during exam season and a bit slower when the holidays come around. We don't have a small office tucked away; the whole place is our workspace. There is a lot of history in the walls here, and you can see it in the architecture of the older blocks. People from all over the country come here, so you hear a lot of different languages while walking to the canteen. It is a place where a lot of learning happens, but for us, it is just where we come to work every morning. Ganesh Khinda Road is always packed with traffic, so the campus feels like a bit of a relief once you get inside.
