We’ve been here on Talawade Road for quite a while now. It’s not a fancy place, mostly just a lot of black dust and people moving bags around. If you come down New Cg Road, you’ll see our gate, though the sign is getting a bit faded from the sun lately. Most days it’s just us trying to keep the machines running and making sure the orders go out before the trucks get stuck in the evening traffic. It gets pretty loud inside the shed, so sometimes we miss the phone ringing if we aren't standing right by the desk. My father started this years ago and we just kept going with it because it’s what we know. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just carbon stuff for the factories around Pune. The floor is always stained, no matter how much we sweep it, but that’s just the nature of the work. People stop by and ask for directions a lot because of the way the road bends right near us. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find someone sitting on a plastic chair near the entrance drinking tea. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you’re coming from the city center, but the rent is better and we have the space we need for the inventory. We just do the work day by day and try to keep things moving without making a big fuss about it.
