About Pune Animals Welfare Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Pune
Our place is over at Flat 502 in the Anusharesidency building. If you know Tulshibagwale Colony, you know it's a quiet enough spot most of the time. We started the Pune Animals Welfare Foundation because we just kept seeing stray dogs and cats that needed a helping hand. It’s not some big high-tech facility, just us working out of this flat on Plot 113. Most days, we’re out on the streets of Pune checking on the strays or helping a neighbor with a sick pet. It gets pretty tiring and the phone tends to ring at odd hours, but someone has to do it. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big marketing team. It’s just a few of us who care about the animals in our specific neighborhood. Sometimes the place smells a bit like pet food and there is always a lot of cleaning to do. We deal with whatever comes our way, from broken legs to hungry litters of kittens. It’s very practical work. We’re not trying to change the whole world, just making things a bit better for the creatures living around here. People in the colony know us as the animal people. That's fine by us. We just keep going, day in and day out, handling the basics. It’s honest work and it keeps us very busy. We appreciate when the neighbors stop by to check in or offer a bit of help with the heavy lifting.
