Population Services International

We work out of 116-Aundh Gaon in Pune, right near the Shivaji Statue in the Ganeshkhind area. It’s a recognizable spot, so people don’t usually have trouble finding us. Population Services International is what we go by, and the work here is mostly about health programs and community stuff. The office is a bit of a mix of desks, boxes of materials, and some old chairs. It’s not a corporate headquarters with glass walls. It feels more like a lived-in space. We spend a lot of time planning how to get resources to different parts of the region. There are plenty of meetings, though they are usually just us sitting around a table with some tea. The traffic in Pune can be a real headache, especially near Aundh Gaon, so we try to time our commutes right. We’ve got a small team here, and everyone kind of does a bit of everything. It’s not the kind of place where you have a strict title that never changes. If something needs doing, someone just picks it up. We have stacks of pamphlets and reports everywhere. It’s busy work, but it’s real work. We don't spend much time on fancy marketing. Most of our day is just spent on the phone or working through spreadsheets to keep the programs running. It's just a regular office doing its part in the local community. It gets hot in the afternoons.
