Our office is set up at Somatane Phata in Vitthalnagar. It’s out in Tal Maval, which is a bit of a distance from the center of Pune. The area is still developing, so there’s a lot of open space and dust around. We deal with security and investigation consultancy, but it’s mostly desk work and phone calls. Our desks are usually covered in files and notebooks. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a receptionist. It’s just a couple of rooms where we get the work done. The weather stays a bit cooler out here than in the city, which is a nice change. We spend a lot of time checking facts and making sure the reports are correct. It’s not a fast-paced environment like you see in movies. It’s slow and careful. We drink a lot of strong coffee to keep going through the afternoon slump. Most of the people who come to see us are looking for straight answers. We don’t use a lot of big words or technical jargon. We just tell it like it is. The building is just a plain structure, nothing special to look at. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. It’s part of the daily routine. We’re just regular people doing a job that needs doing. We keep our heads down and focus on the details. It’s a quiet life out here in Maval.
