Poona Octroi Clearing Agent

Our spot is right by the Phugewadi Octroi Naka in Dapodi. If you know the area, you know it is always busy with trucks and people moving around. Being a clearing agent means we spend a lot of time dealing with the back and forth of goods coming through. It is not the most glamorous job, but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. The air around the Naka is usually full of dust and the sound of engines idling. We have a small office where we keep all the records and files. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, so the fan is always running at full speed. Sometimes we go out to grab tea from the stall nearby when there is a break in the work. The people working here have been doing this for years, so we know the local routine pretty well. Dapodi is an industrial kind of place, very practical and straightforward. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we are usually too busy focusing on the paperwork and the trucks. Every day is a bit different depending on what is coming through the gates. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, while other days are a complete rush from start to finish. We just take it as it comes. It is a living, and we are glad to be right in the middle of the action here at the Naka.
