Pioneer Sales

Pioneer Sales is located near Phadke Haud in Budhwar Peth. If you’ve ever walked down Tapkir Gali, you know it’s one of those narrow streets where you have to watch your step because of all the scooters and people. Our shop is at 741/2, and it’s a modest place that has seen a lot of years go by. Inside, it’s mostly shelves packed with whatever we happen to be selling at the time. We don't have a big fancy storefront or bright neon signs. It’s more of a place where people stop by because they know we are usually here. The morning starts with sweeping the front and getting the lights on. We spend a lot of time talking to neighbors or the delivery guys who manage to squeeze their bikes through the alley. It gets quite cramped when a big shipment arrives, and we have to shuffle things around just to make space for people to stand. There’s a tea stall nearby that we visit a couple of times a day, and that’s usually where we get the local news. We don't bother with much ceremony here. People come in, ask for what they want, and we see if we have it in stock. It’s a very old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. The days go by fast when you’re constantly moving boxes and talking to the regulars who pass by.
