Pencilbricks Foundation

You can find the Pencilbricks Foundation over in the Pimple Nilakh area of Pune. We are based in the Pride Green Fields building, specifically in flat 703 of C-wing. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood, which suits us just fine. Most of the people living around here know us as the ones who are always busy with education projects. Our office is just a regular apartment that we have turned into a workspace. We don’t have any big signs or fancy decorations. We spend our mornings responding to emails and the rest of the day is usually spent coordinating with different people. Being at Sno21/2 makes it easy for us to move around this part of the city. We are a small team and we don't have a lot of the overhead that big organizations have. It’s just us trying to help out where we can. Sometimes the office gets a bit crowded when we have volunteers over, but it’s a good kind of busy. We don’t use corporate talk or have long discussions about "strategy." We just look at what needs to be done and try to do it with the resources we have. It’s practical, everyday work. We enjoy being in Pimple Nilakh because it feels like a real community.
