We are located in Dombiwali West, specifically in the Jay Mahalaxmi Society which is right near the Bharat Natya Mandir. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy the local trains get, and many of us spend a good chunk of the day just commuting back and forth. Patankar And Assocates.Mumbai operates out of this space, which we share with Shailesh Yadwad. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many books and papers piled up on every available surface. It’s not the kind of place you’d see in a movie about big city lawyers; it’s much more grounded and real. We hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long, from the bells of the temple to the vendors on the street. It’s a tight-knit community here. We don't put on any airs or graces when people come to see us. Usually, there’s a pot of tea going and some biscuits on a plate if someone remembered to buy them. We spend our hours going through details and making sure everything is in order. It’s quiet work mostly, punctuated by the occasional loud discussion over a difficult problem. We don't have a fancy website with stock photos of people in suits shaking hands. It’s just us, sitting at our desks, trying to make sense of the work we have. We’ve been here for years and the walls could probably tell a lot of stories if they could talk.
