Palande Courier

Our courier spot, Palande Courier, is located in Erandwane, right behind the State Bank. It is directly opposite the student college, so we get a lot of young people coming in to send their papers and applications. The office is usually full of cardboard boxes and rolls of packing tape. It can get pretty messy when a lot of parcels come in at once. We spend the whole day weighing items and writing out receipts by hand. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to do everything by candlelight or just wait for it to come back. It’s a fast-paced environment because people are always in a hurry to get their things sent out. We have to keep a close eye on the log books so nothing gets lost. The traffic in Erandwane is usually quite bad, so our delivery guys have a tough time getting around on their bikes. We've been in this location for a long time, and the building is starting to show its age, but it’s home to us. It’s not a quiet job, there is always the sound of tape being pulled or someone asking when their package will arrive. We don't use any fancy tracking software that’s complicated, just the old-fashioned way of keeping things organized. It’s hard work, but someone has to make sure the mail gets where it needs to go.
