Ashok Industries

Ashok Industries is situated at 200, Mangalwar Peth, right across from Kadaba Kutti in Pune. If you know Pune at all, you know Mangalwar Peth is one of those areas that has been around forever. It’s got that old-school vibe where everything is a bit crowded and the streets are narrow. Being opposite Kadaba Kutti makes it pretty easy for people to find us, which is a relief because sometimes the numbering around here gets confusing for visitors. Our place is basically a working shop. We spend most of our time dealing with the day-to-day grind of running a business in a busy market area. The sounds of the city are always there, from the honking to the local vendors shouting. It’s a lively place to be, that’s for sure. We don’t have any of those modern glass windows or fancy carpets. It’s just a solid, practical building where we get our work done. The staff is usually busy with something or other, so it’s rarely quiet. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time, and we’ve seen shops change hands and the roads get paved and repaved. It’s a grounded sort of existence. We show up, do what needs doing at Ashok Industries, and that’s about it. It’s honest work in a part of Pune that feels real and unpretentious. We have been here for years and we know most of the neighbors by name now.
