Laxmi Road is always a bit of a mess with all the people and the traffic, but that’s where we are. Our spot for Opel India at 562 Sadashiv Peth is right in the middle of all that Pune energy. It’s a small space, and we have to be careful how we stack things so we don’t run out of room to walk. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks, like the way the door sticks when it gets humid in the monsoon. We spend most of our time dealing with parts and people coming in with questions. It’s not a quiet job. You can hear the scooters and the shouting from the market all day long. We just handle the daily stuff as it comes. There isn't a big plan or a fancy board meeting every week. We just open up the shutters in the morning and see what needs doing. Sometimes a customer stays for an hour just to talk about the old days in the Peth area. We don't mind too much. The work gets done eventually. It’s a lot of manual sorting and checking lists. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny showroom or modern glass walls. It’s just a place on a busy street where we do what we know how to do. Sometimes we run out of chai by noon because so many people drop in. That’s just how life is on Laxmi Road.
