Our office and labs are tucked away in Hinjawadi Phase II, inside the International Bio Tech Park at MIDC, units 38 and 39. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you don’t live nearby, but once you’re inside the park, it’s fairly quiet compared to the rest of the city. We spend our days dealing with health tech, which mostly means a lot of technical work and keeping things clean. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll see people running around in suits. Usually, it’s just lab coats or casual clothes. We have a lot of equipment that needs constant monitoring. The days can be long, especially when we are in the middle of a process that can’t be stopped. We take our breaks in the common areas of the Bio Tech Park, which gives us a chance to see some trees and breathe a bit. The workspace itself is practical. We have desks for the paperwork and specialized areas for the technical stuff. Most of us have been working in Hinjawadi for a while, so we’ve seen the whole area grow from almost nothing to this massive hub. We just focus on our specific tasks and try to keep things organized. It’s a professional environment but it feels grounded because we all know each other well. No one is trying to impress anyone; we just want to get the data right. It is a quiet, busy life in the lab.
