If you’re looking for Omkar Construction, we’re tucked away in the B Wing of Shivdarshan Colony in Mohan Nagar. It’s right near the P.C.M.C. school, so you can usually hear the kids playing during recess if the windows are open. We’ve been in Chinchwad for quite a bit now. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our files and meet up before heading out to various sites around Pune. We do a lot of the local construction work that people need done. It’s usually busy, with people coming in and out all day long. Some of us have lived in this area our whole lives, so we know the streets and the people pretty well. It makes the work feel a bit more personal when you’re building things in your own backyard. We don’t really do fancy brochures or big ads. Usually, someone just tells a friend about us, and then the phone rings. We have a small crew and we’ve worked together for years. We know how each other works, which saves a lot of time. Sometimes things go wrong, like a pipe leaks or the cement doesn't set right because of the humidity, but we just fix it and move on. That’s just construction for you. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us fed and it’s nice to see a building standing when you’re done.
