Omkar Associates, Baramati

We’ve been running Omkar Associates out of our office in Bavada for a while now. If you know the Indapur area, you probably know where we are. It’s a quiet spot, but it keeps us busy enough with everything happening in the district. We handle things here locally and don’t really try to make a big fuss about it. My brother and I started this because there was a lot of work needed around the taluka and we figured we might as well be the ones doing it. Most days involve a lot of phone calls and people stopping by the desk to ask about paperwork or projects in Pune. It’s not a fancy setup. The chairs are a bit old and the tea is usually too sweet, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time traveling between Bavada and the surrounding villages. The roads can be a bit rough during the monsoon, but that’s just how it is around here. We’ve grown a bit over the years, mostly just by word of mouth from neighbors and folks we’ve helped out. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us sitting here in the office trying to get things sorted for the day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it suits the Baramati pace of life just fine.
