Om Sales

Our place, Om Sales, is over on Madhya Marg in Bhawani Peth, at 382/1/3. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty packed with trucks and people moving things around all day long. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time now. It’s mostly just us handling sales for various items people need for their shops or their homes. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we keep our stock on the shelves. My desk is usually covered in papers and handwritten order notes. We spend a lot of the day answering the phone or talking to people who walk in off the street to ask questions. There’s no big fancy showroom here. You just see the stacks of what we’re selling at the moment. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because we have to be quick moving stuff inside before it gets damp. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the daily grind and making sure the orders are correct. We know most of the guys in the neighboring shops around Bhawani Peth. We share tea sometimes when it’s quiet in the afternoons. We don't try to be something we aren't. If we have what you need, we tell you. If we don't, we might know a person who does. That’s how business works around here. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and checking inventory lists.
