North India Diesel Spares

Down in Ganesh Peth, things get pretty crowded early in the morning. North India Diesel Spares is right in the middle of Sultanpet on the Main Road, number 368 if you are looking for the sign. We have been selling engine parts for a long time now. The shop is full of boxes and the smell of oil and metal. If a truck breaks down, the driver usually sends someone here to see if we have the right piston or a specific valve. It is a bit messy inside because we have so many different bits and pieces for various engines. We don't really bother with making the shelves look pretty as long as we can find what the customer needs. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to unload the new stock. I usually sit at the wooden desk near the front. My hands are usually a bit greasy by lunch. We see all kinds of people, from mechanics who know exactly what they want to owners who are just stressed about their machines. It's not a quiet job. The noise from the street is constant. We just do our bit to keep the engines running. No big promises here, just parts and a bit of advice if you ask for it. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s when we usually take a quick break. We know most of the regulars by name now. It’s just how things are in this market. We stay open until the last customer leaves.
