Our place is in the Ramprasad Chambers, right in the Kirad Hospital building on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Road. Being in Nana Peth means we are right in the thick of things. It’s a busy area and the building itself has a lot going on. We focus on diesel spares, which means we spend a lot of time around heavy metal parts and grease. The shop is number 368, so it’s one of many in this complex. It’s not the most modern setup, just a regular workplace where we keep track of stock and talk to people who need parts for their engines. Some of the stuff we carry is quite heavy, so there is a lot of lifting and moving crates around. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the demand for diesel parts stays pretty steady. We usually have our hands full with paperwork or looking up part numbers in old catalogs. It gets a bit loud with the traffic outside and the general hum of the hospital area, but we’re used to it by now. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t; it’s just a place to get work done and provide what people are looking for. Usually, we close up once the sun goes down and the street gets a bit quieter. It's a simple routine that we've followed for a long time now.
