Nest Architects

In the heart of Pune at Deccan Gymkhana, right by Maruti Chowk, you can find Nest Architects. It’s a lively spot to work in, that’s for sure. The noise from Maruti Chowk is constant, but we’ve learned to tune it out over the years. Our office is a bit of a mix of old and new. We have some modern computers but also these huge, heavy drafting tables that we refuse to get rid of because they work fine. The walls are a pale color and have marks where we’ve taped up drawings. We spend a lot of time just talking through ideas and making small adjustments to plans. Deccan Gymkhana is a great area, and we often take our breaks walking around the nearby streets to clear our heads. There’s always someone coming in with a delivery or a quick question. The filing system is something only we understand, with folders tucked away in every nook and cranny. We have a small kitchen area where the sink always has a few mugs in it from the morning tea. It’s a real working environment, not something out of a magazine. We don’t bother with fancy dress codes or formal meetings. We just sit down, grab a pen, and get to work on whatever is on the desk that day. It’s a steady pace and we like the rhythm of being in such a busy part of Pune. It suits our way of working.
