Neha Auto Garage is tucked away at Sukhawani Arcade, shop number 8, over in Pimpri. It’s a busy little corner. You’ll usually see a few bikes or cars parked out front in various states of being taken apart. I’ve been working on engines for a long time, and this shop is where I do my thing every day. It’s definitely not the cleanest place in the arcade; there are oil stains on the floor and tools scattered across the benches. But I know where everything is. The smell of petrol and grease is just part of the atmosphere here. People from around Pimpri bring their vehicles when something starts making a funny noise. I spend a lot of time on my knees or leaning over a hood. Sometimes a repair takes longer than I thought because a bolt is rusted tight, and that can be frustrating. My shirt usually has some smudge on it by ten in the morning. We don't have a waiting room with a TV or anything like that. People usually just leave their keys and come back later after they’ve done their shopping or chores. It’s a practical setup. The arcade can get crowded, but we manage to find space to work. It’s just about getting the machines running right again. I don't talk much while I'm working, I just focus on the task at hand until it's finished. That is just how things go here at the garage.
