Our business is run from a house over at Tupe Wasti which is listed under Dada Harpale at House No. 6/211. We are right opposite the Dhamdhere Chawl so it is a very local neighborhood kind of environment. Working from this spot keeps us around the community. Everyone knows what we are doing. We handle agricultural exports and imports and the office is really just a room filled with computers and a lot of storage for files. It isn't a sleek glass building or a corporate park. It is just a regular house where we get our work done every day. Sometimes neighbors stop by for a chat while we are trying to sort out shipping schedules or talk to vendors. It gets a bit chaotic with the noise from the chawl across the street and the kids playing nearby but that is just life here. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything fancy. We just look at what needs to be moved and we figure out the best way to do it with the resources we have. It is a family-style operation where everyone chips in to help when things get busy during the harvest months. We take things as they come and try to keep our feet on the ground. It is definitely a different way to run a company but we like being close to home and the people we know in this part of town. It makes the workday feel a bit more natural.
