Mrugnayan Social Welfare Foundation

Our office is in Pune, out in the Narhe area. Mrugnayan Social Welfare Foundation is in Wing A-3 of the Shree Swami Landmark Apartments, specifically flat 202. If you are coming this way, just look for Sr. No. 3/15. It is a residential building, so it feels more like a home than a workplace. We like it that way. Most of the people working here are from the local neighborhood. We deal with various social welfare tasks, but it is really just about helping out where we can. The stairs can be a bit much if the lift isn't working, which happens more often than we would like. Pune is growing so fast, and Narhe is no exception. There is construction noise everywhere you turn. Our office is a bit of a refuge from all that. We do not have a lot of fancy equipment. There are a few tables, some chairs, and a cupboard full of files that need sorting. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting people in the lobby downstairs. It is not a glamorous job at all. There is a lot of paperwork and a lot of waiting around for things to happen. But we have been here for a while and the community knows us. We just take things as they come. Every day is a bit different. One day we are helping a neighbor, the next we are organizing a small local event. (246 words)
