About Monika Interior Designer – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Pune
My studio is right on Karve Road, at 01/4/A. It’s a busy spot, and there’s always a lot of noise from the street, but I’ve gotten used to it. Being an interior designer means my space is always full of things. I’ve got fabric swatches, paint chips, and catalogs piled up on every available surface. It’s not the perfectly curated look you see in magazines, because this is where the actual work happens. I spend my time trying to figure out how to make a room look right and work well for the people living in it. Sometimes that means arguing with a supplier about a delivery or spending three hours trying to find the right shade of grey. It’s a lot of small details that most people don’t think about until they’re sitting in the room. I don’t have a big team behind me. It’s mostly just me doing the measurements, talking to the carpenters, and making sure the furniture actually fits through the door. I’ve worked on all sorts of places around here, from tiny apartments to bigger family houses. Every job has its own set of problems to solve, like weirdly shaped corners or bad lighting. I just take it one step at a time and try to keep everything on track. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes, but I like the feeling of finishing a project and seeing it all come together.
