Mittal Brothers (Construction Company)

We started Mittal Brothers (Construction Company) quite some time ago here in Pune. Most of our days are spent on different sites across the city, dealing with the dust and the heat. It’s a construction business, so there is always something going on, whether it is paperwork or looking at blueprints that are spread out on the hood of a truck. We aren't a giant office with fancy glass walls; we are mostly just people in boots trying to get buildings up. Maharashtra gets pretty hot in the summer, which makes the work on-site a bit slow, but we keep at it. Some of us have been here since the beginning and we’ve seen how much Pune has changed. New roads come in and old trees get moved, and we are right in the middle of it all. People often ask us how long a wall takes to dry or why the cement looks that way, and we just tell them the truth about how the weather affects things. We don't have a big marketing team. It’s just a few of us making sure the materials arrive on time and the workers have what they need to finish the job. If you come by our place, you might see some old files and a lot of coffee cups. We just focus on the bricks and the mortar and making sure things are sturdy enough to last for a few generations. It is hard work, but it feels okay at the end of the day.
