Mhada

We are over at A-7 in the Sneh Society in Karvenagar. This is a Mhada office in Pune. Karvenagar is a nice area, quite residential and mostly quiet compared to the center of the city. Our office is part of a society, so it feels more like a home than a business. We have a small porch where we sometimes sit if the weather is nice. Most of our day is spent dealing with housing documents and people coming in to ask about their applications. Pune-411052 is a busy pin code, but our corner is tucked away. The office inside is simple. We have old steel cupboards filled with files that have been around for decades. Sometimes it takes a while to find what we’re looking for because there’s just so much paper. We don't have a computer for everything yet, so there’s still a lot of handwriting involved. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and that’s where the real talk happens. We’ve worked together for years, so we’re more like a small family than just coworkers. There aren't any big corporate meetings here. We just sit at our desks, talk to the people who come in, and try to get the housing stuff sorted out. It’s a slow process sometimes, but we do our best with what we have. It’s just a regular day-to-day operation in a quiet part of Pune where we get things done.
