If you head down Ambethan Road in Chakan, you’ll find us over at Radhakrishnan Niwas. The shop is usually loud because there is always some welding or cutting going on. We work in the Dawadmala area, which has changed a lot over the years with all the new factories. Our day starts early. We pull up the shutters and get the machines warmed up. Fabrication is messy work, honestly. There is dust and the smell of hot metal everywhere, but it is what we know. We make all sorts of stuff out of iron and steel. Sometimes it is gates, sometimes it is frames for small sheds. People from around Pune come to us because we just get the job done. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. We spend most of our time measuring things twice and hoping the power stays steady. Dealing with metal takes a bit of patience and some strong hands. We’ve had the same guys working here for a bit, so we know how each other works without having to say much. It is practical work for practical needs. When a customer brings in a sketch on a piece of scrap paper, we try to make it look like what they imagined. It's not always perfect the first time, but we fix it. That's just how we run things here in Chakan.
