You can find us in the Nandraj Building over on Shivaji Road. We’re pretty close to Gunj Golai, so there’s always a lot of noise and activity outside our windows. It’s a good spot though, because everyone passes by eventually. We run a Nidhi company, which basically means we are a group of people helping ourselves. It's an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't spend money on big advertisements or flashy signs. Most people hear about us through their neighbors or family members. We handle savings accounts and some gold loans when folks are in a pinch. The office is usually cluttered with files and registers because we still like having things on paper. It feels more real that way. When a member walks in, we usually know their name and who their father is. That’s just how it is around Shivaji Road. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the local economy ticking over. If the ledger is a few rupees off, we stay late until it’s right. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but the basic need for a safe place to keep cash hasn’t changed one bit. We’re just here to provide that for our local community in the middle of all the Gunj Golai bustle.
