You can find the Mandakini V Lonkar Science Foundation over in Model Colony in Pune. We are in the Silver Leaf building, specifically in flat 103 on the first floor. It’s a nice enough building, though parking can be a bit of a headache around here during the day. This isn't a place with lab coats and bubbling chemicals, mostly just people sitting around tables with books and papers. We focus on science things but in a very grounded way. Haveli is a busy part of town and being in Model Colony puts us right in the middle of everything. The office is basically a flat that we converted so we could have a place to meet and organize. We spend a lot of time talking to students or anyone interested in how science works in real life. It’s not a fancy institution with a huge lobby. You just ring the bell and come in. We have a lot of shelves filled with old journals and some basic equipment for demonstrations. Some days it is just one person working quietly, and other days it gets quite loud with everyone talking at once. We like being part of the Pune science community even if we are small. It feels right to be in an old neighborhood where people still value learning for its own sake. We just do our thing here in the building and try to stay organized. It works for us.
