We’ve been working as promoters for a while, dealing with land and building projects. Bopkhel is a specific kind of place, being near the college of military engineering. It’s not like the middle of Pune city. We spend our time talking to people about plots and looking at how the area is developing. It’s a lot of meetings and walking around outside. I usually wear my old boots because we’re often on dirt tracks looking at potential sites. We don’t have a big corporate building. Our setup is quite modest, just a few chairs and a table where we can look at maps. We focus on the local area around Netaji Chowk. It’s important to know the neighbors and the local rules. We aren't trying to change the world. We just help people get their projects started or find the right piece of ground. It’s practical work. There’s always some paperwork to be filed or someone to meet at a site. We just take it day by day. The traffic in Pune is getting worse, but Bopkhel is a bit tucked away, which we appreciate. It’s a decent place to run a business from and we just keep it simple.
