Majisa Handicrafts

If you head into Budhwar Peth and find your way to Tulsi Baug, you will come across Majisa Handicrafts. We are located at Uttar Darwaja, right near the Babu Genu Chowk and the Ram Mandir. This whole area is always crowded and full of energy, which makes working here quite an experience. Our shop is small and usually overflowing with various handmade goods that we get from different places. The smell of incense from the nearby temple often drifts in through the door. We don't have much room to move around, especially when we get a new shipment in. Most of the day is spent talking to people who are navigating the busy lanes of Budhwar Peth. It is a bit chaotic with all the scooters and shoppers outside, but we are used to it by now. The shelves are high and reach all the way to the ceiling to make use of every inch of space. We use old-fashioned ledgers for our notes and keep a stool by the door for when our legs get tired. It is a very traditional way of doing things, and we don't see any reason to change it. There is a lot of history in these streets, and being near the Ram Mandir makes it feel special. We just try to stay organized among the piles of wooden items and colorful fabrics.
