You can find us over at Maersk Global Service Centre on Plot No. 6, Survey No. 253, in Khese Park. This part of Lohegaon in Pune is always buzzing, mostly because we’re so close to the airport. You can hear the planes taking off sometimes while we sit at our desks. It’s a large operation here, but it doesn't feel like those cold, empty corporate spaces you see on TV. There are a lot of people working on computers, tracking ships and managing data for cargo all over the globe. It gets a bit noisy with all the chatter, and the coffee machine is probably the most used piece of equipment in the whole building. We have people working different shifts since the shipping world never really sleeps. Lohegaon has changed a lot since we moved in, with more shops and traffic every year. The parking lot is usually full by nine in the morning. We spend a lot of time on calls with people from different time zones, which can be a bit confusing if you haven't had enough sleep. It’s a lot of logistics coordination and making sure the systems are running right. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on the screens and the schedules to make sure everything stays on track. It’s a practical environment where everyone just wants to get their tasks done without any unnecessary drama or delays.
