Maersk Global Service Centre

Working out of the Maersk Global Service Centre on Sinhagad Road in Pune is quite an experience. This part of Anand Nagar is always buzzing, and the commute can be quite a long haul depending on the time of day you head out. We handle a lot of the back-end stuff that keeps global shipping moving. It’s mostly office-based work, with rows of computers and people talking on headsets. Maharashtra is a huge base for us, and being in Pune means we are right in the middle of a lot of talent. The office isn't just about business stuff; it's where we spend most of our waking hours. We have our little routines, like where we grab lunch or who makes the best coffee in the breakroom. It’s not always easy dealing with different time zones and global logistics problems, but that is the nature of the job. Some of us have been here since the center first opened up on Sinhagad Road. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We aren't out on the docks or on the ships, but we feel the pulse of the ocean through our data feeds. It’s a lot of spreadsheets and emails, making sure things happen on the other side of the world. It gets stressful when there’s a delay at a major port, but the team here just puts their heads down and works through it until everything is sorted.
