Maa Ashapura Paint Traders

Down at 2 Narayan Peth, near the Kdm Shop at Ganga Corner, you’ll find Maa Ashapura Paint Traders. We are right on the 11th Main Road in the Rpc Layout. Our shop is pretty much full of paint cans from the floor to the ceiling. It’s a colorful place, mostly because of the mixing machines and the splashes of paint on the counter where we test the shades. We spend a lot of time talking about different finishes and whether a color will look right once it dries on a wall. We aren't professional decorators or anything. We just sell the paint and give people the brushes and rollers they need to get the job done. The shop can get a bit crowded when we have a lot of pallets arriving, but we manage. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. People mostly come to us because they know we have the stock and we don't try to push anything they don't need. It’s just a regular paint shop. We open early, stay until the evening, and try to make sure we don't mix the wrong tint. It’s practical work. Sometimes the smell of the oil-based paints is a bit strong, but you get used to it after a few years of working here.
