M Babulal & Co is tucked away in Bhawani Peth at Shankar Niwas Sah 240. If you know Bhawani Peth, you know it’s a place with a lot of history and very narrow, busy streets. We’ve been operating out of Shankar Niwas for a long time, and the building has its own character. Our daily routine is pretty much the same as it’s always been. We open up early, check the ledgers, and start dealing with whatever orders have come in. It’s a traditional way of doing business where a lot of things are done through handshakes and long-standing relationships. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our part and keep the business healthy. The area can get very crowded with trucks and people, especially in the afternoons. Inside the office, it’s a bit calmer, but there’s always a phone ringing or someone dropping by for a chat. We deal with a lot of different suppliers and customers, many of whom have been coming to us for decades. It’s more of a community than just a place of work. We keep our records and stay on top of the details at Sah 240. It’s not a fancy modern office with glass walls, but it’s home to us and we like the way things work here. We just try to stay focused on the work and the people. Every day brings something a little different.
