If you're heading toward Uttam Nagar in Bavdhan, you'll find us at Shop No. 1. We are right near the Appleblossom Society. Lokgram Foundation is a small local setup. We chose a shopfront because it makes it easier for people to just walk in and talk to us. We didn't want to be hidden away in some high-rise office building. Pune is growing so fast, and Bavdhan is changing every day. We just wanted to be a steady spot in the middle of all that. We don't have a huge staff. It’s usually just a couple of us here during the day. We handle a lot of different things, from helping local kids with supplies to organizing small events for the seniors. It’s very much a grassroots thing. We don't have a big handbook of rules. We just see a problem and try to fix it. Sometimes we’re just sitting here drinking tea and talking to the neighbors about what’s going on in the street. It’s important to stay connected like that. The shop gets a bit of dust from the road, but we keep it tidy enough. We aren't professionals in the sense of having big degrees in management. We are just people from the area who care about what happens here. That’s really all there is to it. No big mystery or complicated goals. Just helping out where we live.
