We are located at 698 Suraj Nagar in Shirur. The office is set up at Balasaheb Bansiram Tonge’s place. It’s a nice enough area in the Pune district, fairly quiet most of the time. We started this because we wanted to provide something local for the people living right here. We aren't a big bank with those fancy glass walls and guards. It’s just a ground-floor setup with a few plastic chairs for visitors to sit on. The walls are painted a pale yellow color that’s starting to fade. We have a big calendar on the wall that we sometimes forget to flip. Most of the folks who come in to see us are farmers or small shop owners from around the Shirur area. We know their families and they know ours, so it's all very personal. It’s a very informal way of doing things. We offer simple savings plans and small gold loans. The paperwork can be a bit much to handle sometimes, but we get through it eventually. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just have to wait for it to come back on. We don't mind the slow pace at all. It gives us a chance to catch up on the local gossip. We have a small desk for the manager and a wooden counter for the cash transactions. It’s functional for what we need. We try to keep things honest and very straightforward. No one here uses big words.
